ABOUT THE TUI SAFETY BAR

The Tui Bar (pronounced tooey) was designed by Amanda Smith, horse enthusiast, business woman and busy mother.  Like so many parents Amanda had to fit her own equestrian schedule around her young daughters.  The Tui bar is named after Amanda’s horse Tui, who, once loaded into the trailer, would often pull back and reverse out of the trailer before the breach bar could be fastened.  Amanda became frustrated by this potentially dangerous situation, especially with young children around.

	She said: “ I was so fed up with putting my horse, and more importantly an assistant, in danger every time I wanted to take Tui somewhere.  I had to do something to make loading and travelling a safer and calmer environment.”
After several years of development the Tui Bar now carries a world-wide Patent. Amanda continues to work closely with Hampshire Fire and Rescue, leaders in animal safety.
